How To Grow Your Instagram Account in 2019

I feel you. I was like you trying to uncover the Instagram secrets of the world and spent countless of hours trying to figure out how to grow my Instagram account with real human beings, with opinions, beliefs and that were interested in what I had to share.

I did a lot of things and even tried boosted likes, bots, etc. but using these tactics will inevitably result in your brand hearing crickets.

After thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours spent learning Instagram and trying different methods, I finally found the secret sauce and guess what? It’s algorithm-proof.

So stick with me for the next couple of minutes and make sure you write notes because the three “secrets” to massively grow your Instagram account are so stupid simple you can start implementing these today and start seeing incredible results the next day.

No. 1: Engagement Pods

You know what I hate about blogs with titles like mine? Is that they almost never give you actionable steps. And even the course creators of the most famous courses for Instagram Growth have the audacity to charge $500 or more to tell you, that you have to create “good” content. If you didn’t know that – then are you really in the business to serve people? Providing value should be a no-brainer – and creating content that’s engaging, educational, and entertaining is the bait for your audience.

Now, there are rumors out there about engagement pods being the reason for getting your Instagram account shutdown. That’s really hard to prove, but from a business and marketer perspective how come you haven’t asked yourself this question? “Don’t Facebook accounts get shut down ALL OF THE TIME while spending THOUSANDS of dollars on adspend?” So are FACEBOOK Ads wrong?

Providing value should be a no-brainer – and creating content that’s engaging, educational, and entertaining is the bait for your audience.

Engagement pods are small circles of businesses or personal brands that reciprocate engagement with one another. They lift themselves up in the Instagram algorithm to increase the chances of their content being seen on the user feed.

“But that Guru said pods are wrong”. K, hear me out…

Have you ever gone to a networking event? Clickfunnels, Agency Expo, etc. THIS a pod, honey!

So go network, create relationships with like-minded individuals who are willing to reciprocate consistently on your content. The more niche’d down the better.

No. 2: Shout Outs

Influencer Marketing at its finest.

So why is it wrong to pay an influencer to leverage their 100k + following and give you a shout out so that their followers can get a chance to fall in love with your content?

I don’t know…

I really don’t know…

But stop following the crowd and start actually, again, establishing relationships with those influencers. Some of them actually reply! I just recently made friends with an influencer account with 1.5 million followers – all female entrepreneurs.

I can now tap into her network to gain massive exposure for me and my clients.

No. 3: Giveaways

This is the most beautiful and powerful method to grow your Instagram account quick and fill your audience with people who are highly targeted. You just have to know how to do it right.

Now sometimes Giveaways can flop – but there are a couple of reasons why that can happen.

Essentially, what happens here is the next level of Shout outs. Imagine, creating a chain of 10-15 influencers that will promote your giveaway. The giveaway has to have clear instructions to have people engage properly and they also cannot be overly complicated. Here’s an example of the format you should be using for your instructions:

Now, I’ve used giveaways for a couple of other reasons other than growing the Instagram account. For example, I also use this strategy to “test” the strength of engagement inside an Instagram’s account. In this case I didn’t enlist any influencers because my goal was to see how active this account’s followers were at the time.

Giveaways aren’t a walk in the park to manage. Like I said most business owners have a tendency to flop their giveaways. But once you get good at it the possibilities are endless! You can even kill two birds with one stone and grow your email list and Instagram account at the same time… And if you are feeling a little spicy – we’ve also grown Facebook groups that way!
